How Does the Application Process Work for Indian Students?
The process has two stages: university admission, then the EMGS Student Pass. You apply directly to your university, and once you accept an offer, the university submits your visa application to EMGS for you.
- Apply to your university. Private universities and branch campuses often decide within two to three weeks.
- Accept your offer. Pay any deposit and send your documents for the visa application.
- University submits to EMGS. You pay the EMGS processing fee, and EMGS’s client charter is 14 working days for a complete application.
- Receive your eVAL. Allow 4 to 6 weeks in total, and longer during the May to July peak.
- Travel and register. Complete medical screening within 7 days of arrival, then your university arranges your Student Pass.
Documents to prepare:
- Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets and certificates (plus degree transcripts for postgraduate study)
- English test results, such as IELTS 6.0 or above, TOEFL or PTE
- A passport valid for at least 18 months, ideally covering your full course
- Passport-size photos meeting EMGS guidelines
- Recommendation letters, for postgraduate applicants

Do All Malaysian Universities Follow the Same Intake Calendar?
