Our French A1 Course is designed to help beginners build practical communication skills alongside a strong foundation in grammar and pronunciation.

French A1 Course Overview
Our 30-hour French A1 programme is perfect for absolute beginners eager to build a strong foundation and start speaking French with confidence.
The course focuses on developing all four core language skills:
- Listening
- Speaking
- Reading
- Writing
Alongside communication practice, students gain a clear understanding of essential grammar and pronunciation. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to introduce yourself, ask and answer everyday questions, talk about your routine, and participate in simple conversations – all while using correct grammar and pronunciation.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the A1 course, students will be able to:

Course Structure (30 hours)
Module 1: Introduction to French
Duration: 4 Hours
Topics: French alphabet and pronunciation, greetings and polite expressions, introducing oneself (name, age, nationality, profession), numbers (0–100), days of the week and months, classroom expressions
Grammar: Subject pronouns (je, tu, il, elle, nous, vous, ils, elles), verb être
Module 2: Personal Information & Family
Duration: 5 Hours
Topics: Asking and giving personal information, talking about family members, professions, nationalities
Grammar: Verb avoir, articles (un, une, le, la, les), gender forms, plural forms
Module 3: Daily Life & Routine
Duration: 5 Hours
Topics: Daily activities, telling time, talking about habits and schedules
Module 4: Descriptions
Duration: 4 Hours
Topics: Describing people (appearance and personality), colours, descriptive vocabulary
Grammar: Adjective agreement, position of adjectives, verb aller
Module 5: Food & Shopping
Duration: 4 Hours
Topics: Food vocabulary, ordering at cafés and restaurants, shopping conversations, prices
Grammar: Partitive articles (du, de la, des), verb faire
Module 6: Places & Directions
Duration: 4 Hours
Topics: Places in the city, asking for and giving directions, describing locations
Grammar: Prepositions (à, chez, dans, sur, sous, devant, derrière) and other location prepositions
Module 7: Revision & Practice
Duration: 4 Hours
Activities: Conversation practice, role plays, speaking exercises, reading comprehension, writing short paragraphs
Focus: Review of key grammar and communication skills
