Overview
CEG's Netherlands operation centres on OnCampus Amsterdam, part of Cambridge Education Group's long-established international pathway network. Since 1952, Cambridge Education Group has helped thousands of students progress onto leading universities worldwide, and its Amsterdam centre, founded in 2012 and based directly within the University of Amsterdam (UvA) campus, offers international students a structured route into Dutch higher education without needing to meet direct-entry requirements.
Students on the OnCampus Amsterdam foundation programme prepare for progression to the University of Amsterdam, a world-class centre for research and teaching in the heart of one of Europe's most vibrant cities, with foundation subjects spanning Business, Economics and Social Sciences. In 2024, CEG expanded its Dutch partnerships further by launching Propaedeutic Year One with Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences, a new University Pathway Programme beginning at OnCampus Amsterdam in September 2025. Wittenborg, appointed by the Dutch government with programmes double-accredited by NVAO and FIBAA, offers a strong practical focus on global business education, and its Propaedeutic Year One is taught entirely in English, keeping the route accessible to EU and non-EU students alike.
Beyond Wittenborg's own Bachelor of Business Administration, graduates who complete the Dutch University Entrance Exam can progress further to one of the Netherlands' leading research universities, or use their 60 ECTS credits to transfer to universities elsewhere in Europe, giving CEG's Netherlands students genuinely flexible onward routes into Dutch and wider European higher education.
Services
Every OnCampus Amsterdam student is assigned a Personal Tutor, the first point of contact for any personal, practical or academic issue, who can direct students to further support where needed. As a student at OnCampus Amsterdam, students have access to the same facilities and services as University of Amsterdam students themselves, integrating them into campus life from day one.
The centre's student support service also assists with accommodation searches before arrival, working through the University of Amsterdam's agreements with housing corporations across the city, and helps non-EU students with the residence permit process, which UvA applies for on students' behalf once enrolment is confirmed.
Rankings
As a specialist pathway provider rather than a degree-awarding university, CEG's Netherlands operation does not hold its own rankings. Its value instead lies in its progression routes: guaranteed conditional entry to the University of Amsterdam, a globally recognised research university, and to Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences, whose programmes are double-accredited by the Dutch NVAO and international FIBAA quality assurance bodies, giving students confidence in the recognition and portability of their qualification.
Accommodation
OnCampus Amsterdam offers a range of self-catering accommodation options designed with international students in mind, including private and shared kitchens, onsite laundry facilities and internet access, with room sizes and prices to suit a range of budgets. Given high demand for private housing in Amsterdam, options such as Hotel Jansen and Bajeskwartier are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so early booking is strongly advised.
Location
OnCampus Amsterdam is based within the University of Amsterdam's Roeterseiland campus, placing students at the heart of the city's academic and cultural life from day one. Amsterdam is renowned for its rich heritage, vibrant arts scene and dynamic business environment, offering plenty to explore alongside academic study, while its compact size makes it easy to get around by bike or public transport.
