UK Criminology Courses

Gain an in-depth understanding of sociological and psychological approaches to crime

A criminology degree at a UK university will introduce and explain the criminal justice system in great detail, providing you with a wide variety of transferable skills that can help you forge a career in a variety of different fields and sectors.

Students will study a range of topics and modules, including Crime and Punishment in Contemporary Society, Sociology of Crime and Control, Globalisation and Crime and Criminal Justice in Action, whilst you’ll also benefit from training in criminological methods such as analysing big data, conducting interviews and using quantitative analysis.

Practical experience will see students investigate mock crime scenes and analyse evidence, while guest speakers will include judges, police and probation workers. Placements and work experience can also be found with local government forces.
