The University of York has announced more than £5 million in international scholarships for 2027 entry, with an expanded range of automatic awards for undergraduate and postgraduate taught students.
Eligible international offer holders starting full-time courses in September 2027 will be considered without needing to submit a separate scholarship application.
| Scholarship | Level | How It’s Awarded | Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| York International Undergraduate Scholarship | Undergraduate | Automatic for eligible offer holders | £5,000 per year of study |
| International Undergraduate Achievement Scholarship | Undergraduate | Competitive (A Level ABB, IB 34 points or equivalent), with automatic consideration | Up to £10,000 (first year only) |
| York International Masters Scholarship | Postgraduate taught | Automatic for eligible offer holders | £5,000 to £8,000 per year, depending on domicile |
| International Masters Achievement Scholarship | Postgraduate taught | Competitive, with automatic consideration | Up to £10,000 (first year only) |
A key change is the expanded multi-year undergraduate award. Because it renews every year, a student on a standard three-year bachelor’s degree would receive £15,000 in total, which reduces the overall cost of studying at a Russell Group university for eligible international students.
To be eligible, you’ll need to hold an offer by 1st July 2027 for undergraduate study, or hold an offer or have applied by 31st August 2027 for a postgraduate taught course (an offer by 28th August 2027 for the Masters Achievement award). You must also pay fees at the overseas rate and study full-time on the York campus. Students at Hull York Medical School, the University of York International Pathway College, and Kaplan International College London aren’t eligible, and deferring your place means losing the award.
Since every award is tied to your offer, applying early is the simplest way to make sure you’re considered. StudyIn’s counsellors can help you shortlist York courses, check your eligibility, and plan your application around these deadlines.
