In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, University of Hull is offering 2 scholarships to students in India and Vietnam applying for one-year postgraduate courses in January 2027.

The GREAT Scholarships 2026-27 programme, launched by the British Council together with over 60 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam in accessing world-class UK higher education opportunities.

The scholarship programme offers financial support of a maximum of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects, at over 60 institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Please note that applicants must be permanent residents and passport holders of Bangladesh, China (mainland only), Egypt, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, or Vietnam.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a University of Hull – GREAT Scholarship 2026-27 – all applicants must:

  • Be a passport holder and resident of one of the respective countries included within this scholarship.

  • Have received an offer of study for a postgraduate taught degree programme (excluding PGCert and PGDip) at the University of Hull.

  • Have achieved, or be working towards, a 2:1 degree or equivalent in their undergraduate programme recognised by the University of Hull.

  • Have achieved an IELTS of at least 6.5 overall, with 5.5 in each skill or equivalent before the application deadline.

  • Have not previously studied in the UK.

  • Successful scholarship recipients must pay the required tuition fee deposit within one week of receiving their scholarship offer to secure the award.

Deadline

The deadline to apply for the scholarship is 12 November 2026 at midnight.
