Chancellor’s International Scholarships
A limited number of scholarships are available to ‘excellent’ undergraduate international applicants. These are highly competitive and only applicants with exceptional academic achievement and potential will be considered. If you have exceptional grades to date, you can apply for a scholarship after you have received an offer to study at the University of Sussex in 2026.
What you get
£5,000 in the first year of full-time study
Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

Be classified as ‘Overseas’ for fee purposes
-
Have received an offer of a place to study a full time Bachelors degree at Sussex in 2026
-
Be self-financing
-
Have excellent academic grades (see ‘Qualifications advice’ for indication of minimum grades required; this does not include all accepted qualifications and is instead intended as guidance)

Who isn’t eligible
You are not eligible for this scholarship if you:

Are applying for a Bachelors at a university that is not at the University of Sussex
-
Are a current Sussex student
-
Are progressing into the final year of an integrated Masters at Sussex
You are not eligible for this scholarship if you are going to study any of the following:

Courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS)
-
Degrees in Social Work (if receiving an NHS bursary)
-
Courses which include Foundation Year
-
PGCE courses
-
School Direct teaching courses
-
Postgraduate diplomas
