The University of Siegen is a forward-thinking public research university located in the scenic city of Siegen, within the North Rhine-Westphalia region of Germany. While officially founded in 1972, the institution's roots in education stretch all the way back to the 16th century. Finding a comfortable place to live is made simple through the Studierendenwerk Siegen, an independent student services organisation that runs affordable student halls near the campuses. While rooms are highly popular and require an early online application, they offer a great way to meet other students.

The University of Siegen operates several distinct campus sites throughout the city of Siegen and the nearby area of Siegen-Weidenau. The city itself is surrounded by green hills, offering a safe, comfortable environment with plenty of shopping areas, local theatres, and historic sites to explore.
Navigating between your classes and the city centre is straightforward thanks to excellent local transport links. Dedicated city bus lines like the C106, alongside special UniExpress (UX) buses, run frequently during the lecture periods to connect the main train stations directly to the university buildings.
Furthermore, Siegen Main Station offers easy regional rail links to major German travel hubs, allowing you to reach Frankfurt Airport, Cologne, or Düsseldorf in under two hours.
