This scholarship is for applicants who are nationals of India, are classified as ‘Overseas’ for fee purposes and have been accepted to study an eligible Masters course at Sussex starting in September 2026.

What you get

£5,000

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must:

  • Be a national of India

  • Be classified as ‘overseas’ for fee purposes

  • Be taking up a place on a full time Masters degree, starting September 2026

Who isn’t eligible

You are not eligible for this scholarship if your tuition fees are fully sponsored

You are not eligible for this scholarship if you are going to study any of the following:

  • Certificates and Diplomas (including PGCE)

  • Courses at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS)

  • MSc Climate Change, Development and Policy

  • MA Development Studies

  • MA Food and Development

  • MA Gender and Development

  • MA Globalisation, Business and Development

  • MA Governance, Development and Public Policy

  • MA Poverty, Policy and Development Practice

  • MA Power, Participation and Social Change

  • Degrees in Social work (if receiving an NHS bursary)

  • Online courses

  • Schools direct teaching courses

  • Masters funded by the research councils (e.g. ESRC 1+3 funding)
