Overview
Chemnitz University of Technology (TU Chemnitz) is a public technical university in Saxony, Germany, with academic strengths spanning engineering, computer science, natural sciences, economics and the humanities. Its research priorities include Smart Systems and Materials, energy-efficient production and Human Factors in Technology, supporting interdisciplinary work across technology and society. Accommodation
Student accommodation is available through Studentenwerk Chemnitz-Zwickau, with residences around areas including Reichenhainer Straße and Thüringer Weg. Studentenwerk currently offers around 1,885–1,945 rooms in Chemnitz.
For 2026, published all-inclusive rents range from approximately €264.50 to €344.50 per month, depending on the residence and room. A security deposit is also required. Students are advised to apply early because residences can reach full occupancy around the start of the semester.
