We are delighted to announce that Newcastle University has achieved its highest ever<\/strong> placing in the QS World University Rankings. In the 2023 rankings, published on 8th June, they have been ranked #122, up 12 places from the previous year. The ranking also places Newcastle in the top 20 UK Universities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The QS Rankings are one of the most important to prospective students as it puts a strong weighting on Employability. Newcastle scores very highly for Employer Reputation, ranking 65th globally<\/strong>, based on survey responses from more than 99,000 employers about the relationship between the institution and graduate employability.<\/p>\n This is a result that Newcastle University is very proud of, and they have thanked SI-UK for our efforts in recruiting fantastic North American students to Newcastle, helping to maintain their academic reputation. <\/p>\n “Our highest ever position and strong performance are testaments to the quality and impact of our teaching and research. I am proud and grateful for the hard work and dedication of all University colleagues.”<\/em><\/p>\n – Professor Chris Day, Newcastle University Vice-Chancellor and President <\/em><\/p>\n The area that has seen the University’s highest climb is Citations per Faculty<\/strong>, reflecting the quality and impact of Newcastle University’s research.<\/p>\n A new category introduced by the QS this year, which is expected to become a weighted measure from next year’s edition of the rankings, is the International Research Network<\/strong> (IRN) Index. It is calculated from the number of international locations where universities have long-standing research collaborations. At 39th globally, the International Research Network is the strongest indicator for Newcastle University. <\/p>\n
