What Canadian Students Need to Know About Applying to UK Universities
Students planning to study in the UK will benefit from a significant update to the UCAS application process. From Clearing 2026 entry, and fully implemented for 2027 entry, UCAS will introduce the ability for applicants to upload supporting documents directly to their application.
What Documents Can You Upload to UCAS?
With this new feature, international students will be able to upload key documents directly within their UCAS application, including:
- Passport copies
- Proof of name changes (such as marriage certificates)
- Academic transcripts
The ability to upload transcripts is especially impactful for all international students. With this update, Canadian students can submit completed academic results directly through UCAS, provided the qualification has already been awarded.
This enables UK universities to assess applications more efficiently and accurately.
Review Your Documents Before Submitting Your UCAS Application
While this new UCAS feature offers greater convenience, it’s important to understand how it works alongside your application support.
All schools, colleges, or centres, including StudyIn, are not able to access or view any documents you upload to UCAS, and only the universities you apply to will be able to see the uploaded documents. This means you should carefully review all uploaded files before submitting your application.
If you are unsure what to upload or need guidance, speak with a StudyIn consultant before submitting your application. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
