Overview
BIMM University is one of Europe’s leading creative industries universities, bringing together specialist schools in music, film, performing arts, and creative technology. With over 12,000 students across campuses in the UK, Ireland, and Germany, the university delivers industry-focused education designed to prepare students for careers in the global creative industries.
The university is made up of five specialist schools: BIMM Music Institute, MetFilm School, and Performers College. Together, these schools offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses across music performance, music production, songwriting, filmmaking, acting, musical theatre, dance, games, animation, VFX, and creative technology.
For over 40 years, BIMM University has built a reputation for practical, industry-led education that combines academic learning with real-world creative experience. Students are taught by experienced industry professionals and benefit from masterclasses, guest speakers, live projects, showcases, screenings, performances, and networking opportunities throughout their studies.
BIMM Music Institute alumni include internationally recognised artists such as James Bay, George Ezra, Ella Mai, Tom Odell, Mimi Webb, and Fontaines D.C. MetFilm School graduates and alumni have worked on major productions including Barbie, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, The Witcher, and Euphoria, alongside award-winning independent films and television projects. Performers College graduates have built successful careers across the West End, Broadway, international tours, television, film, and live performance, with alumni working as performers, choreographers, creatives, and industry professionals worldwide.

Services
Scholarships at BIMM
- An automatic scholarship of £2,000 is available to all international students per year of study (UK only)
- An automatic scholarship of £4,000 is available to all EU Member State students per year of study (UK only)
Real Experience
In addition to inside BIMM, students can perform/work at famous music venues and festivals around the UK and Europe.
BIMM Extra
Free extracurricular activities and classes that expand your horizons and build your skillset. Notable topics include Pro Tools/Logic for Beginners, Social Media Marketing, Branding, Bookkeeping, Essential Digital Visual Software, Working the Press, International Music and Business.
Talent Match
Giving BIMM students vital experience and work opportunities in the music industry with companies such as Sony Music, Abbey Road Studios, Primary Talent Agency, Republic of Music, Ninja Tune, RSL Awards and AIM. New Partnership with Spotify signed in 2021.
Accommodation
Although the colleges do not offer accommodation, many have links with local student housing providers and bedsits. All eight colleges are located in large cities, so accommodation is generally plentiful.

Location is vital to breaking into the music industry and BIMM has eight colleges where music matters most – London, Berlin, Hamburg, Brighton, Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham and Dublin.
